Eduardo Escobar On The Bench Against Brewers
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eduardo Escobar (quadriceps) is sitting again Tuesday night but is available off the bench. Escobar, who is day-to-day with a minor right quad strain, tried to talk Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo into putting him back into the lineup, according to Steve Gilbert of MLB.com. Josh VanMeter, who is manning the hot corner and batting in the three-hole against Milwaukee's Freddy Peralta, is a .151 hitter in 73 at-bats this season and can be ignored for fantasy purposes. Escobar's current injury could be interfering with his trade market. The D-backs are looking to trade the veteran in the final year of his deal amidst a lost season. He doesn't have a ton of fantasy appeal this year, but that could change, depending on whether he's traded and what his role is if he joins a contending squad.
