Eduardo Escobar Out Against Astros
2 years agoNew York Mets third baseman Eduardo Escobar is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Houston Astros. Escobar is hitting just .114 (4-for-35) with a homer and five RBI in 10 games over the last two weeks, so it's a good time for him to take a seat. Overall, he's slashing just .222/.283/.376 with six home runs, 30 RBI and 30 runs scored in 290 plate appearances over 69 games. Luis Guillorme will get the start at the hot corner and is batting sixth against Astros right-hander Justin Verlander. Guillorme is hitting a strong .311 on the year with a .385 on-base percentage, but he has just one home run and seven RBI in 151 at-bats, and the matchup against Verlander is a tough one.
