7 years agoBoston Red Sox infielder Eduardo Nunez did not return to the field after a 45-minute rain delay, according to Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic. He legged out an infield single in the second inning and the trainer had to come check on him. There is no word on the source of the pain, but it could potentially be a hamstring or knee. Nunez stayed in the game and was 2-for-3 with his fifth double and two runs before the delay. It is unknown if he did not return due to actual physical concerns or as a precaution due to the conditions on the field. More information is likely to come out after the game, but it's troubling for the BoSox with Xander Bogaerts already on the disabled list.--Ellis Canady - RotoBaller
