6 years agoBoston Red Sox infielder Eduardo Nunez (hamstring) will serve as the designated hitter on Friday and will play third base on Sunday. Nunez has been out since Sept. 19, but the Red Sox want to get him back in there before the playoffs start next week. Nunez hasn't been as good this year as he was last year, hitting .264/.288/.389 with 10 homers, 44 RBI and seven steals over 473 at-bats. His versatility in the infield and outfield has proved very valuable to Boston, however.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
