Eduardo Rodriguez Good For Seven Innings
6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez handled the Mariners on Friday night, going seven shutout innings with five strikeouts and one walk to earn the win. E-Rod, like most of the Red Sox staff, had a rocky start to the year, but has managed four quality starts out of his last six. This brings his ERA to 4.53 on the year with a 1.40 WHIP. Even with a rough outing here and there, Rodriguez has been a great source of strikeouts with 46 in 43 2/3 innings. There’s always win potential with the Red Sox lineup. His FIP of 3.30 shows that the 4.53 ERA will likely continue to drop. He’s a good play in all leagues and he’s a solid buy at this point if you’re in need of pitching with strikeout upside. Next up is the Rockies at home, who shouldn’t be feared, as they’re much worse on the road (15th in runs scored) than at home (seventh in runs scored).
