2 years agoDetroit Tigers left-handed pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez has been in touch with manager AJ Hinch and general manager Al Avila and plans to begin a throwing progression in hopes of rejoining the team in late August. It's been a strange situation with E-Rod and the Tigers, with an apparent lack of communication from the 29-year-old. The full story hasn't come out yet, but it appears Rodriguez had a personal situation that he felt he needed to attend to. The Tigers have had him on the restricted list for quite some time, which means he hasn't been getting paid, so it is clearly something Rodriguez was passionate about. He wasn't at his best early in the season, pitching to a 1-3 record with a 4.38 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. It is possible that whatever situation he was attending to was on his mind, though, so maybe he will be better once he returns.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller
