Eduardo Rodriguez Shuts Down Orioles
6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez threw seven innings of one-run ball, surrendering just six hits, while striking out four in a 13-2 win over Baltimore. While it wasn't an overly dominating performance, Rodriguez's only run allowed was a solo homer in the first inning. The outing ties his longest of the season, and now three of his last four starts he has allowed only two runs or less. Rodriguez relied heavily on his fastball, which helped him find consistency, which he has struggled with all season. Through 14 starts, he's now 7-4, with a 4.67 ERA, and an 84/22 K/BB. Next, he'll get the ball against the Twins on Wednesday, which sets up as a tough matchup for the southpaw, so he can be held out of lineups.
