5 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez lasted five innings, while surrendering three runs on nine hits to go with three walks and five strikeouts during a 7-4 win over the Rockies on Wednesday. Rodriguez needed 104 pitches to get through the outing but was able to keep the ball in the yard. Wednesday marked his third straight start without allowing a home run. The southpaw improved to 16-5 on the year, which is a career-high in wins and he hasn't really showed any signs of slowing down as the year comes to an end. Across 165 2/3 innings, he has a 3.97 ERA, a 4.22 FIP, and a 160/62 K/BB. With two days off for the Sox in the coming days, Rodriguez's next start will fall on Wednesday against the Twins. It's not a great matchup for the lefty, but his home ERA of 3.53 gives him a shot to have another solid day against a tough lineup.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
