2 years agoMiami Marlins right-hander Edward Cabrera (elbow) threw two innings of live batting practice in Jupiter, Fla., on Monday. He was scheduled to make a minor league rehab outing with Triple-A Jacksonville on June 22, but that was scrapped after he suffered a setback. It remains to be seen when the 24-year-old will be scheduled for another rehab outing, but he's getting closer. He's been on the injured list since June 15 with right elbow tendinitis, so it's unrealistic to expect him to return to the Marlins before the All-Star break. Cabrera has made only three starts this season, but he has allowed only six earned runs on 10 hits while striking out 15 and walking nine in 15 2/3 frames. He'll certainly be a rotation option for the Fish in the second half of the season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
