Edward Olivares In The Leadoff Spot Again
3 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder Edward Olivares is serving as the designated hitter and is batting leadoff again on Friday against Baltimore Orioles right-hander Jordan Lyles. With Whit Merrifield moving to second base, Olivares has been starting regularly in right field, and this will be his fourth straight game in the leadoff spot for KC. Olivares has gone 7-for-14 with three doubles, one RBI and one run scored in that spot in the last four games, and he's now hitting a strong .364/.417/.485 with no home runs, two RBI, two stolen bases and 12 runs scored in his first 36 plate appearances of the season. As long as the 26-year-old continues to play every day, he'll be worth rostering in deep mixed leagues as outfield depth.
