Edward Olivares Joins Big League Roster, Starts In CF
4 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder Edward Olivares, who was the prized jewel of the Trevor Rosenthal swap with San Diego, has been called up Thursday and will start in center field against the White Sox and right-hander Dylan Cease. Olivares is ranked as the Royals’ No. 22 prospect, having made his big league debut with the Padres earlier this year (6-for-34). Having had just one season at Double-A prior to his callup, Olivares will likely need some seasoning before he becomes a fantasy asset. Kansas City could opt to hand him considerable playing time down the stretch, though, so fantasy managers will want to stay abreast of his development.
