6 years agoSeattle Mariners closer Edwin Diaz locked down his 34th save of the season Thursday against the Angels. For Diaz, it was his 15th save in a row, and he has not blown a save since June 1. He currently is the best closer in the game, posting an astounding 75 strikeouts in only 46 innings pitched this season. He has allowed only 12 runs all season and surprisingly, half of those runs have been surrendered to  the Texas Rangers. In fact, his 2.35 ERA would be at 1.17 if it wasn't for his trouble against the Rangers. Diaz is a practical shoe-in to make his first All-Star appearance in a few weeks, and he has been an elite fantasy performer thus far in 2018.--Joey C - RotoBaller
