7 years agoSeattle Mariners closer Edwin Diaz blew his third save of the season Friday night against the Rays. Diaz was hoping for bounce back outing after getting lit up for four runs in 1/3 of an inning against the Rangers on Monday. The back-to-back rough performances have swelled his ERA up to 3.03 but his numbers are still fantastic. In fact, six of Diaz' 10 earned runs allowed this season have been against the Rangers spread across three outings. Contrast that with his eye-popping 50 strikeouts in 29 2/3 innings, his 19 saves, a 0.91 WHIP and his ERA currently represents the biggest misnomer about the kind of season Diaz is having. As long as Diaz can avoid the Rangers for awhile fantasy owners need to ride out this little bump in the road.--Joey C - RotoBaller
