Edwin Encarnacion Pops First Dinger In Home Opener
6 years agoSeattle Mariners first baseman/designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion showed off his patented parrot home run trot for the first time in front of the hometown crowd. The veteran launched a solo shot off of Chris Sale in the third inning as he finished the night going 2-for-4. Encarnacion was also hit in the hand with a pitch in the sixth inning, but appeared to be fine and remained in the game. He should continue to produce in the middle of a seemingly potent Mariners lineup this season, but his year-end numbers may not look as sexy as the once did a few years ago.
