Edwin Rios Starting On Tuesday
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers infielder Edwin Rios is starting at third base in place of the injured Justin Turner (hamstring) on Tuesday. Rios was activated on Tuesday after a stint on the injured list that kept him out since August 16, but the 26-year-old had been red-hot with a 1.012 OPS over his first 14 games this season. A prototypical power hitter, Rios has paired a 50% hard-hit rate with a 17% swinging-strike rate so far this season, combining to fuel an impressive .395 xwOBA. Rios will probably cool off somewhat over the rest of the season, but he’s likely to be the Dodgers’ primary third-baseman with Turner sidelined and is worth a look from fantasy players as a result.
