Edwin Rios Starting Rehab Assignment Thursday
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers first baseman/outfielder Edwin Rios (hamstring) will begin his minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, starting at third base and batting second. Rios landed on the injured list on June 3 with a torn hamstring, so he's likely to require a lengthy rehab assignment before the Dodgers consider having him rejoin their active roster. The 28-year-old is unlikely to have a path to regular playing time in LA when he's ready, either. In 86 at-bats with the Dodgers before his injury, Rios was hitting .244/.293/.500 with seven home runs, 17 RBI and 12 runs scored in 27 games played.
