Elehuris Montero Making MLB Debut Sunday
3 years agoColorado Rockies third baseman Elehuris Montero is making his major league debut on Sunday against the Cincinnati Reds, serving as the designated hitter and batting ninth against left-hander Reiver Sanmartin. Montero was part of the trade that sent third baseman Nolan Arenado from Colorado to the St. Louis Cardinals. The 23-year-old is the team's No. 4 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and he comes with nice raw power from the right side of the plate. Montero hit .288/.356/.450 with four home runs and 12 RBI in 20 games for Triple-A Albuquerque before his call-up with Kris Bryant (back) on the injured list. He might be worth a flier in deep mixed and NL-only leagues for his power, but he won't have much upside in DFS in the nine-hole in his first big-league start.
