Eli Apple, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie In Danger Of Being Cut
7 years agoNew York Giants cornerbacks Eli Apple and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie are candidates to be released this offseason. Apple is an extremely athletic 22-year-old former first-round pick, but his immaturity issues have caused a rift in the locker room and with coaches. He'll cost $4.13 million on the salary cap, and the Giants would be hit with $477,468 if they cut him. Given his talent, general manager David Gettleman is expected to give Apple a "clean slate" to prove he has grown up. Rodgers-Cromartie is 31 and was suspended one game last year for leaving the team facility after he was benched. He's no longer an every-down player. Cutting him would save the team $6.5 million on the salary cap.
