6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates catcher Elias Diaz went 2-for-4 in Wednesday's 7-2 win over the Reds. Diaz has collected four hits in his last two games and has 18 hits since taking over as the starter behind the plate for Francisco Cervelli (concussion) on May 15. Overall, he has posted a slash line of .340/.368/.377 with six RBI and three walks during this 15-game stretch. The 28-year-old is expected to continue to see the bulk of the playing time until Cervelli, who is expected to be re-evaluated on Thursday, is able to return.--Daniel Benjamin
