Elias Diaz Hits First Home Run Of The Season On Monday
3 years agoColorado Rockies catcher Elias Diaz went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, two walks, and a strikeout in a 3-2 win over the New York Mets on Monday. Diaz took Mets starter David Peterson deep in the top of the second inning to put the Rockies up 2-0. It was the 30-year-old backstop's first long ball of the season. He also drew a pair of walks and struck out once. Neither Diaz nor Dom Nunez has been able to establish themselves as the everyday catcher for Colorado with both players struggling to hit this year. Diaz has a lackluster .135/.207/.203 batting line with the one home run and four RBI over 74 at-bats on the season. He's completely off the fantasy radar, even in deep NL-only leagues.
