3 years agoColorado Rockies catcher Elias Diaz went 3-for-4 with a double and a three-run home run in a 5-2 win over the Cardinals on Thursday. Diaz played the hero on Thursday night when he jacked a three-run homer off of Giovanny Gallegos in the bottom of the ninth inning to break up a 2-2 tie and win the ball game. He's now homered in three-straight contests and is batting .381/.500/.857 over his last seven games (21 at-bats). He's still slashing a lackluster .194/.273/.343 with five home runs and 14 RBI on the season. He's showing more promise at the plate than Dom Nunez lately but it's hard to trust either player in fantasy due to their poor rate stats.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
