3 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Elieser Hernandez (forearm) left his Grapefruit League outing against the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday with a right forearm contusion after being hit by a comebacker. The line drive that hit his arm had an exit velocity of 105 mph off the bat of outfielder Tyler O'Neill. Hernandez is fortunate to have avoided a more serious injury on the final day of spring training. The 26-year-old should be able to enter the season as a member of Miami's starting rotation, and he's tentatively scheduled to make his season debut on Sunday on the road against the San Francisco Giants. Hernandez went 1-3 with a 4.18 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, 53 strikeouts and 14 walks in 51 2/3 innings over 11 starts in his fourth big-league season in 2021.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
