5 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Elieser Hernandez threw just over four innings during the loss to the Nationals on Independence Day. The 24-year-old gave up three runs, which included a homer from both catcher Kurt Suzuki in the second and third baseman Anthony Rendon in the fourth, to go along with five hits on the day. Though he struck out six, it wasn't enough as he ended up in the loss column for the third time on the year. With the All-Star break approaching and pitcher Caleb Smith (hip) projected to return on Saturday, Hernandez may find himself heading back down to the minors, leaving him with little fantasy value at the moment.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
