3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie running back Elijah Mitchell (knee) is officially active on Sunday against the Houston Texans in Week 17. Mitchell will return after missing the last three games and should serve as the team's featured rusher in an excellent matchup against one of the worst rushing defenses in the NFL. The 23-year-old has been a high-end RB2 for fantasy managers as San Fran's lead back when he's been healthy, but Mitchell could share more of the load with Jeff Wilson Jr. after the layoff, and rookie quarterback Trey Lance, who had 16 carries in his only other start this year, is a threat to Mitchell's overall ceiling in his return. Still, the matchup alone makes Mitchell an RB2 play for fantasy managers.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
