Elijah Mitchell Underwent Cleanup Surgery On Knee
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell (knee) was playing hurt toward the end of his rookie season last year and said that he required a cleanup procedure on his knee. Mitchell expects to be fully healthy ahead of training camp, so fantasy managers shouldn't be too concerned heading into draft day. The 23-year-old was San Francisco's primary running back when he was active, and despite knee, shoulder, rib and concussion injuries causing him to miss six contests, he finished with 207 carries for 963 yards and five touchdowns while adding 19 receptions for 137 yards and one more TD in 11 games played. Mitchell averaged 4.6 carries in his first nine games compared to 3.8 yards per carry in his final five games, so his injuries clearly took a toll at the end of the year.
