Eloy Jimenez Estimated To Miss 6-8 Weeks
3 years agoThe Chicago White Sox estimate that outfielder Eloy Jimenez (hamstring) will miss six to eight weeks. The White Sox will place Jimenez on the 10-day injured list on Sunday after he was diagnosed with a right hamstring strain on Saturday. He'll undergo further evaluations when the team returns home on Monday. It's another tough blow for Chicago and for the 25-year-old outfielder, who missed roughly four months last year due to a ruptured pectoral muscle. With Jimenez now out for the foreseeable future, both Andrew Vaughn and Gavin Sheets should have regular roles in the outfield and at designated hitter. Adam Engel will also see more playing time against right-handers. Although Jimenez had just eight hits in his first 36 at-bats with 10 strikeouts, he needs to be stashed in all fantasy formats.
