4 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (pectoral) will miss five to six months with a torn pectoral muscle, according to Jim Duquette of MLB Network Radio. Jimenez left Wednesday's game after injuring himself while attempting to rob a home run. This is a significant loss to the White Sox lineup, as he slashed .296/.332/.559 with 14 home runs in 55 games last year. With Adam Engel also likely to start the year on the injured list, Leury Garcia will likely see an increase in playing time, with Luis Gonzalez, Micker Adolfo, Blake Rutherford and Billy Hamilton as possible options in the minors that the White Sox could call upon. None of those guys will be worth looking at outside of AL-only and deep-mixed leagues, though, and Jimenez will be all but undraftable now in most single-season formats, as he won't be back until around September with this current timetable.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
