4 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (foot) will be absent from the lineup in Game 1 of the White Sox's wild-card series. Jimenez did some work on Monday and was hopeful that he would be in the lineup Tuesday, but it will be outfielder Leury Garcia taking his spot and batting eighth. Garcia will make his return after being absent with a thumb injury since early August. Jimenez does have a spot on the playoff roster, and manager Rick Renteria said that Jimenez had a little discomfort, but they are hopeful that he will be available for a big at-bat on Tuesday.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
