Elvis Andrus To Return On Thursday
4 years agoTexas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus (back) is expected to return to the Texas lineup on Thursday after missing three games while dealing with back soreness. Andrus’s return likely bounces Isiah Kiner-Falefa out of the everyday shortstop role, though it’s unclear exactly how the Rangers plan to use the utility player going forward. Andrus will look to improve upon a disappointing start to the season that saw him post a .494 OPS over his first 20 games, though it appears as though his best days are behind him given his .694 OPS over the past two seasons. Andrus maintains value as a stolen base threat with three stolen bases so far this season and 31 last year, but it’s unlikely that his OPS gets back over .750 this season.
