4 years agoColumbus Blue Jackets netminder Elvis Merzlikins fought off 41 Detroit shots to record a shutout on Tuesday. Columbus beat the Red Wings 1-0 in a shootout. For Merzlikins, it was the second shutout in 2021 for the Riga, Latvia native. Through 25 contests, he carries a 7-12-3 record with a goals-against average of 2.80 and a .916 save percentage. Before Tuesday's game, Merzlikins was winless in his last nine starts.
