3 years agoThe Cleveland Guardians and closer Emmanuel Clase were close to ironing out a contract extension on Friday. As a rookie last year, Clase went 4-5 with a 1.29 ERA and converted 24 saves in 29 opportunities over 69 2/3 innings pitched. The hard-throwing right-hander registered 100 mph or better on 44% of the 1,057 pitches he threw in 2021. The Guardians may not provide Clase with as many closing chances as some of the best teams in baseball, but he's still plenty valuable in fantasy and is ranked as RotoBaller's No. 6 closer, behind new Los Angeles Dodgers closer Craig Kimbrel.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
