Emmanuel Clase Making Good Progress
5 years agoCleveland Indians relief pitcher Emmanuel Clase (back) is progressing well with his recovery, according to manager Terry Francona. Francona did not provide details regarding Clase's rehab progress but just said he's been doing throwing sessions in the Dominican Republic. The 21-year-old was the main prize the Indians received in the deal that sent Corey Kluber to the Rangers. He made 21 appearances as a rookie for the Rangers last year and posted a 2.31 ERA with 21 strikeouts, two homers allowed, six walks and a 1.11 WHIP in 23 1/3 innings. He possesses a cutter that climbs into triple digits on the radar gun and has immense talent. He should be ready to go once play resumes and will be a deep sleeper for saves in 2020.
