2 years agoBoston Red Sox infielder/outfielder Enrique Hernandez (hip) received a platelet-rich plasma injection on Friday to help speed up the healing in his injured hip. His diagnosis of a flexor strain remains the same, and he will ramp up activity after the All-Star break. Hernandez had a visit with a hip specialist on Thursday after having his minor league rehab assignment shut down after only one game played. The 30-year-old won't be ready to return until at least late July or early August, so Jackie Bradley Jr. and Jarren Duran should continue splitting playing time in center field until then. Hernandez was hitting a lowly .209/.273/.340 with four home runs, 24 RBI and 27 runs scored before his injury.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
