2 years agoDetroit Tigers catcher Eric Haase will begin the first game of Monday's doubleheader against the Kansas City Royals on the bench. Haase is hitting .234 with a .283 on-base percentage and seven home runs in 152 plate appearances. Detroit will instead start Tucker Barnhart behind the plate. Barnhart is batting .217 with a .280 on-base percentage in 175 plate appearances this season. He'll hit ninth against the Royals and right-handed starter Brad Keller.
