2 years agoBoston Red Sox first baseman Eric Hosmer (back) exited Saturday's game against the Baltimore Orioles with lower-back pain. He went 0-for-1 before leaving Saturday's contest. Ian Brown of MLB.com says Hosmer's back injury is the same outfielder Tommy Pham suffered on Friday. Before the injury, Hosmer had collected a hit in four of his last five games. The severity of Hosmer's injury is unknown, and he is considered day-to-day. Bobby Dalbec should see an uptick in playing time if Hosmer misses any time.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
