4 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer went 1-for-3 with a solo homer Thursday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Hosmer followed a dinger by outfielder Tommy Pham in the first inning with a blast of his own against starter Julio Urias. The 30-year-old missed 12 games with a stomach issue but is slashing .269/.321/.577 with two round-trippers and 12 runs-plus-RBI in 28 plate appearances. Hosmer’s strikeouts are down to 11 percent while his launch angle is up to 18 degrees. With the improvements resulting in a solid .371 xwOBA, Hosmer merits fantasy consideration as a depth option.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
