4 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer went 2-for-4 with a single, grand slam and steal Thursday against the Texas Rangers. The veteran made baseball history with his fifth inning, loaded four-bagger by putting San Diego in the books as the first team ever to hit grand slams in four consecutive games. Hosmer’s numbers have dipped since a hot start, slashing .250/.311/.554 but he’s amassed five homers, two steals and 31 runs-plus-RBI despite missing 12 games with a stomach injury. The 30-year-old’s strikeouts are down to 15 percent and he’s made positive strides in improving launch angle, resulting in a solid .406 xwOBA. With the broad multi-category contributions, Hosmer is workable depth option in all fantasy formats.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
