3 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer is not in the starting lineup on Monday night against the Dodgers. This appears to be just a night off for Hosmer, who has appeared in 14 of the team's last 16 games. He has struggled at the plate this season, slashing .249/.308/.357 with six home runs, 35 RBI and 22 runs scored over 66 games, and he has struggled mightily over his last 20 games, where he is slashing .147/.194/.206 with one home run, five RBI and four runs scored. Hopefully the night off can help Hosmer get back on track, as Jake Cronenworth will now start at first and bat third against the Dodgers.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
