Eric Hosmer Not Starting On Saturday
3 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer isn't in the team's starting lineup on Saturday against the Washington Nationals. Hosmer is batting .272 with a .330 on-base percentage in 334 plate appearances this season. He's also added seven home runs and five stolen bases for the Padres. Jake Cronenworth is moving over from second base to first base to start in place of Hosmer against Washington left-hander Patrick Corbin. Ha-Seong Kim is starting at second. Cronenworth starts most games for the Padres at second base, so this is essentially Kim stepping into the lineup for Hosmer. If you're looking for a streaming option at second base, you're probably best off looking elsewhere. Kim is hitting just .205 with a .266 on-base percentage, five home runs and five stolen bases in 203 plate appearances this season.
