3 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the Colorado Rockies. San Diego didn't announce at the time if Hosmer would be available off the bench. Hosmer had a day off last Friday against the New York Mets as well, but he subsequently started the next four games, going 2-for-13 at the plate with one run, two walks and two strikeouts. There's no word if Hosmer is struggling with a lingering injury, but his bat has cooled off significantly in June, and with only six hits on the month so far, it's fair to say his stock is going down. Jurickson Profar will get the start at first base and will hit sixth against Rockies southpaw Kyle Freeland. The switch-hitting Profar is hitting just .219/.327/.281 on the season with one homer in 192 at-bats, including a .152 average against lefties on the season. While Coors Field is enticing, most fantasy managers will be fading Profar in this one.--Chelena Goldman
