6 years agoThe San Diego Padres placed first baseman Eric Hosmer on family medical leave Tuesday. He is eligible to return before Friday's series against the New York Mets. In corresponding moves, the Padres purchased the contract of starter Eric Lauer, who will make his major league debut Tuesday against the Colorado Rockies. Additionally, reliever Buddy Baumann was designated for assignment. Infielder Chase Headley will take Hosmer's place at first base for Tuesday's game.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
