4 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer Saturday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Hosmer cranked an offering from reliever Taylor Widener into the pool in the eighth frame for his third long ball of the year. Despite missing 12 games with a stomach ailment, the 30-year-old is slashing a robust .286/.324/.600 with 15 runs-plus-RBI to accompany the homers. Hitting more fly balls, Hosmer has rewarded fantasy managers that took a flier on him after two down seasons. He deserves consideration as a depth option in all formats.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
