6 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer collected his first knock in five games Thursday, going 1-for-4 against the Cincinnati Reds. He also made a critical baserunning error that killed a potential rally. After starting the season 7-for-22, Hosmer has only seven total hits in 13 games since. The veteran is slashing just .197/.269/.282 this season and has continued his worrying swing-and-miss trends from 2018, striking out at a 22% clip. While his .262 expected average and .310 expected weighted on-base average suggest better days, Hosmer is profiling as a replacement-level player at best. He’s unusable in fantasy until he turns it around.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
