6 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer knocked three singles in five at-bats Friday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Hosmer was in a 2-for-15 funk (.133) in his last four games and Friday raises his slash back to .277/.351/.440. Hosmer's been fairly consistent in 2018 but the Padres and fantasy owners would love to see more thump from his bat. His slugging ranks 14th in the majors amongst eligible first basemen and he has only one extra-base hit in his last 12 games. Hosmer's smacked nine homers for the season with 37 runs and 36 RBI. Unless his counting stats start accelerating, Hosmer's modest fantasy value is trending down.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
