Eric Lauer Continues Positive Momentum
7 years agoSan Diego Padres rookie starter Eric Lauer pitched well in a no-decision Tuesday against the Oakland Athletics, giving up one unearned run in six innings. Lauer was sharp, scattering only three hits and two walks while fanning seven batters. After a terrible start to his major league career, Tuesday marked Lauer's fifth start in six tries allowing three earned runs or less with a 3.60 ERA in that span. The solid outing dropped his season totals to a 5.47 ERA and 1.84 WHIP with an 8.3 K/9. Though the headline numbers are poor, Lauer has improved on honing his command and attacking on the mound. He remains a very deep fantasy streamer, but his stock is trending up.
