Eric Lauer Fires Best Outing Of Season
6 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Eric Lauer went seven strong innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday to pick up his third victory. The start marked Lauer’s best and longest of the season as he struck out seven while surrendering just four hits and no walks. Excluding an eight-run meltdown at Coors Field on May 10, Lauer has pitched well with a 3.58 ERA and two earned runs or less in six of nine outings. He sits with a 4.73 ERA and 1.31 WHIP overall. Without overpowering stuff and a 19.7 percent strikeout rate, Lauer isn’t a fantasy stud but he could be useful at home where he holds a 2.67 ERA this season. He’s a recommended sit visiting the New York Yankees next week.
