7 years agoSan Diego Padres rookie starter Eric Lauer earned his third win Wednesday, pitching 5 2/3 innings of two-run ball against the St. Louis Cardinals. Lauer was inefficient but good enough, surrendering eight hits and no walks while striking out only two. After a disastrous start to his major league career, Lauer has three consecutive outings allowing three earned runs or less with a 3.45 ERA in that span. For the season, he still holds a poor 6.20 ERA, 1.98 WHIP and 8.0 K/9. The Friars No. 12 prospect should continue taking the bump every fifth day, but until Lauer develops some consistency, he's best left on the fantasy waiver wire.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
