Eric Lauer Takes Loss And Falls To 1-3
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Eric Lauer (1-3) was tagged with the loss Monday against the Reds after allowing four runs on five hits and four walks while fanning three across five innings. Lauer has pitched more than five innings just twice all season long and has been showing some control issues over his last few outings, as he owns a 14:10 K: BB across his three starts this month. The lefty has been serving as the Brewers' sixth starter on a temporary basis, but his numbers haven't been very good -- he owns a 5.18 ERA in eight appearances (five starts) thus far. "He's had some great innings; he's had some rough innings, really. Not a lot of in-between, really, has probably been his story," Brewers manager Craig Counsell said. "But we need him. In the course of a 162-game season, we're going to need him." It appears as if Lauer will continue to see opportunities, but at this point, he's avoidable in all fantasy formats.
