4 years agoChicago Cubs second baseman Eric Sogard went 3-for-4 with a run scored and three singles in Saturday's loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. Sogard had been platooning with second baseman David Bote, but he is a favorite of manager David Ross and he could see more at-bats with outfielder Joc Pederson (wrist) on the 10-day injured list. The veteran is now hitting .257 with no home runs and four RBI. Sogard is a pure contact hitter and doesn't offer much else to be excited about.
