Eric Thames Drills Sixth Home Run In Eight Starts
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers first baseman Eric Thames went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in the 2-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Just like Tuesday's game, the Brewers beat the Reds 2-0 and a Thames two-run home run was the only offense that the team could muster. Thames now has a .995 OPS with only a .322 on-base percentage due to his astounding .673 slugging percentage this season. This is now his sixth home run in the last eight starts for Thames and he is now up to seven home runs and 11 RBI this year. Thames also hit leadoff this game after Christian Yelich returned to the lineup, so the Brewers might pull a Charlie Blackmon or George Springer type of situation where they put a power hitter up to bat first. Thames will eventually cool down, as he has more home runs than singles and doubles combined, but you may as well ride him while he's hot.
